Color, a diluted clay - a slime composed of soil, water and glue.

To paint is similar to clay modelling. The approach is to control paint, with different viscosity and texture, on a flat surface. That the formless paint evoces tangible sensations is a visual miracle . The image of a man arouses thoughts of a real person. In a receptive mind this figure is as real as anyone else. Painting of a human figure is reminiscent of the life-giving situation, like Prometheus (in the ancient mytoligin) was in, when he shaped the first man from dirt and water.

The starting point for project "Gestalt" has been discussions with participating artists which led to project "Gestalt".

Theese methods, questions and topics were important during the working process.

  • What is constituting the personality in a face.
  • The absence - presence of personality. When do you sense the presence of it  and when does it dissapear.
  • To see the face as a landscape, booth on the surface and in the illusion of depth.
  • The practice of not seeing what you do. To simply do without conserning about the result.
  • To invite the fluidness of the paint to act as co-creator. This together with a strict method of layers of the three colors yellow, red, blue.
