T. S. Eliot
"Where is the life we have lost in living? Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge? Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?"
English
The popular term "Arcadian" describes a far away utopian garden paradise where light-hearted people live, eat, dance, love and rest in an eternal pastoral summer landscape.
In the project "Arcadia-Trash" we have the ancient conflict between the airy dream and tangible reality; the longing for balance and the current compromises of reality. In the works, Kenneth Pils allow archaic image motifs share their presence with concrete physical materials. The images represent a landscape with timeless Archaic features, while the pervasiveness of the materials has a marked here and now feel.
